A New Comedy Night by the founder of the Freedom Fridge, Sophie Sweatman.
The Falmouth Watersports club will open to the public for a comedy event taking place on 3rd Wednesday of each month, charging £3 on the door to reinvest in promoting and attracting the best possible comedy talent. The venue has a membership keen for this type of entertainment and holds up to 100 people seated, plus low-priced drinks.
Falmouth Comedy Floor already has support to promote to the local and student population from private tourist company Fal River and Skinner's Brewery. There will be a professional film-maker available to provide comedians with high quality videos of their performances, as well as mid-quality filming for a comedy blog. An extensive poster, flyer and press campaign has started to make sure people know to come along.
Local community radio station SourceFM are supporting the event with the lend of their PA system as well as some recording for radio play. Host Sophie has 3 hours of radio a week during which to play interviews and material by comedians. A 'Comic's Excuse Me' will give audience members the chance to win a slot at SourceFM's mini-festival summer event Parklive, at which the West Country based comedians will be appearing each last Sunday of the month.
